This interactive map was a group project; I partnered with two classmates Chathuranga Seneviratne and Rob Wilson to build this website, I handled a lot of the backend code for making the game work while they focused on making the site look good and make sure the maps worked as intended. The maps and assets were built by Tyler Marshall and Murphy D Beya.

The idea behind this interactive map initially started as a murder mystery, but as that was not very family friendly, we changed it to a missing person story. The game worked by going through the park section by section looking for evidence of Kevin Mclostalots location. In each part of the map, there was one piece of evidence to be found and between three and five locations to explore and looks for the evidence.

When the user first loaded in, they would see a bar with silhouettes of each missing item, as they collected the items the silhouettes would fill in with colour to give a visual clue as to what they had obtained. Once the User had collected all the evidence, they were shown Kevin’s location on the map and given the game over screen when the location was clicked on.

This project was fun as was my first time working with a group on my coding, it taught me a lot about responsibility when it comes to keeping code clean and easy to use for everyone involved. Overall I think this site is one of my best portfolio pieces.
