This photograph was taken on August 23, 2017, and edited February 26, 2018. This photo was taken using an iPhone 7 at Global Fest 2017 Quebec night. As this was my first time attempting to shoot fireworks I had to throw out my initial ideas of getting the perfect shot without any need for cropping. The next problem arose when I had forgotten my proper camera at home, so I was stuck with my phone which thankfully has a fairly decent camera.

Fireworks are always stunning, and no one can deny that they are, a challenge though is making sure that you capture a moment of sheerer beauty even when your equipment is not the best. While most people would not admit to this, I took this photo without actually looking at my phone (camera). I was so invested in the show on display for me but not wanting to waste the opportunity for some great photos I set my phone up at the right angle and just went to work tapping my finger. I ended up getting some of the best shots I have ever taken, a lot of the photos in this batch turned out better than I ever could have ever imagined.

Edits

When I got around to finishing up my edits I took the photo into Photoshop and cropped each photo from the batch manually, next I used the Levels tool to make the sky darker by bringing in the black marker to the right a tad. The final step I took was to boost the contrast up to 56 to bring the colours out and help decrease the ever-growing smoke cloud.
